About Krista Jiannacopoulos:
Krista's most recent works, showcased in this exhibit, are primarily focused on color. Since moving from Chicago to Los Angeles in 2008, Krista finds herself once again gravitating toward bright colors - brilliant yellow, green, rose fluorescent.
Some of Krista's best memories are from living in Chicago, and the city continues to inspire her work in many ways. Chicago can, however, be a heavy and often grave place, with its narrow streets, intense traffic, and gloomy weather. For Krista, Los Angeles has become a walk with the sun again.
Krista's current paintings are a proposition of color. With bold lines informed by Chicago's distinctive architecture, mixed with the radiant colors of Southern California, she seeks to explore the visual and emotional impact of line and color.
